Affordable Real Estate Development

Trinity House

NOAH's Real Estate team has either rehabilitated or developed 494 units within 80 buildings in East Boston, Everett, Beverly, Holliston, North Andover, Carlisle, Webster, and Middleborough. NOAH works with many different entities in each community to achieve shared housing and preservation goals with marked sensitivity to historical, ecological, and land use concerns.

While continuing to meet the needs of our constituents within East Boston, in 2001 NOAH expanded its mission to work with suburban cities and towns and with Massachusetts Gateway cities, in order to meet a growing community need. There are many suburban areas with a high demand for affordable housing, but which lack the development capacity to manage complex rental or ownership projects. NOAH leverages its experience and organizational capacity to assist towns with complex projects that address 10% affordability production, the 40b process, green design, open space and environmental concerns, and 40r and 40s incentives.

Meeting the housing needs of multiple cities and towns in the region requires the ability to pursue deals of all sizes as part of community and economic development strategies. While many developers are only capable of constructing large scale projects, NOAH’s development capacity allows it to pursue both large and small deals. NOAH also has over 30 years of experience in acquiring and rehabilitating distressed properties. This experience and ability to build at different scales is a unique quality among the many local non-profit, social benefit housing organizations.
